SEA FISHERIES COMMITTEE

CHRISTCHURCH SITTINGS START ON MONDAY

The Sea Fisheries Investigation Committee will start its sittings at the auxiliary Magistrate's Court; m the Old Provincial Buildings, on Monday m The I comniittee is conducting inquiries into all aspects of the'sea fishing industry, and evidence will be taken from fishermen, fish merchants, retailers and others. The committee will advise the Government on ways and means by which the industry can be encouraged and developed, having regard of course, to conservation measures where these might be deemed necessary. All persons and firms interested in the industry and .desirous of submitting evidence have been asked by advertisement to make contact witn the chairman or with the district officer of the Department of Industries and Commerce.
