This is the first time in the history of the stud that breeders have had an opportunity to purchase the full pedigree Parorangi ewes directly descended from the original English importations. Parorangi, by winning the World's Championship at the Argentine Centenary International Exposition in 1910, was the first stud to establish New Zealand Romneys in the markets of the world. Parorangi Romneys have since been successfully, exported to all sheep-breeding countries throughout the world. The sheep are of the most approved type, low set with splendid' bodies, typical Romney heads, and ample bone. They have made a great appeal to every judge who has inspected the flock, their evenness of type being remarkable. A better woolled stud of Romneys would be hard to find, their covering showing quality, character, and evenness. Bred on the soundest of country 1000 feet above sea level, these sheep show great constitution; in fact, have a reputation second to none in this-respect. They have been successful in the Manawatu, Feilding, and Royal Shows -whenever shown, and no one* requiring high class Romneys will be disappointed if they attend this sale. Applicants should appear personally before the Land Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Tuesday, Bth June, 1937, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands. SCHEDULE: Run 250, Waimate County. Area 5650 acres. Annual Rental £250. Loaded with the sum of £462. (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising approximately 530 chains boundary and party-boundary fencing and 240 chains of subdivisional fencing. The Run, which is situated off the Hook School road, lies 10 miles from Waimate, six miles from Waituna School, and 13 miles from Studholme Saleyards; access is provided by good metalled roads with the exception of the-last mile which is unformed track up a steep spur. The Run is fenced . into three blocks and comprises hilly and broken country, well watered by the Hook and Waihao rivers, and by streams, and rises to an altitude of 3562 ft to Mount Studholme. The grazing on the Hunter side is medium to light on the top of the range, but the largest portion, on the Waihao side, is well grassed with tussock and other native grasses, lying on warm sunny faces, and provides safe grazing country in all weathers. There is no position for a homestead-site and provision for this would have to be made off the property, unless taken up by a neighbouring settler. Carrying capacity from 2000 to 2400 sheep.
