HORORATA SCHOOL
+ PROPOSAL FOR ASPHALT PLACING AREA _____ Representations were made some weeks ago-by Mr H. E. Herring, M.P.. to the Minister for Education (the Hon. P. Fraser) about the need for the provision of an asphalt play area at the Hororata School, and in reply the Minister advised that he had recently requested that he should be supplied with a further list of cases where Education Boards recommended that improvments to school grounds should be carried out. A proposal for the provision of an asphalt play area at the Hororata School was included in a comprehensive list of ground improvement works which the Canterbury Education Board hoped to have carried out this year. The Minister regretted that at present he was unable to advise definitely whether funds would be made available for the work at the' school, but further consideration would be given to the proposal when he learnt wnat funds had been appropriated by Parliament for works of this nature for the current financial year.
