_ # ANNUAL MEETING OF CITY BRANCH A satisfactory year was reported to the annual meeting of the Christchurch brr.rch of the New Zealand Town Planning Institute, held in the Christchurch City Council Chambers last evening. Mr W. W. Scarff presided. The report, which was aaopted, showed that during the year a number of lectures had been delivered, all of which had been well attended, 'ine membership roll stood at 13 members, 25 honorary members, and five students, making a total of 43. The executive had several times considered suggested amendments to the Town Planning Act, and the Public Library site extension. The year aaa commenced with a credit balance ot £1 Is Id, and had ended with a credit balance of £7 8s Id. Officers were elected as follows: Chairman, the Hon. Sir R. Heaton Rhodes, M.L.C.; vice-chairman, Mr E. H. Andrews; secretary, Mr C. O. nett; treasurer, Mr A. H. Bridge; executive. Messrs A. R. Galbraith, H. Helm ore, J. L. Davis, and C. G. McKellar.

After the meeting, Mr F. W. J. Belton gave an address on the "Use of Gas in a Modern Community."
