TECHNICAL HEADS TABLE NOMADS FIELD PROMISING TEAM With two rounds of the Hurley Shield series finished. Technical Old Boys leads the table in the competition, The. Technical team, with the exception of G Browne, L. Fleete, A. Porter, and 1. Lannbn of Hamilton, is the same one that finished second to Young Mens Christian Association in the reserve competition last season. Fitness has been the main reason for the success of the team in the matches played; but before a match against either Western or Nomads the team should remove two weak points. First, complete understanding is essential among all units of the side, and, second, the shooting must be improved. Nomads created a surprise on Saturday by heavily defeating the strong Thistle team. Nomads this season appears likely to challenge Western strongly for the championship. The forwards in particular are showing more dash and combination than they have dqne for many seasons. The only weakness is found in the halves, but it is expected that this unit will show improvement as further matches are played, „ J , Rangers and Thistle.. on Saturday played poorly in comparison with their form of last season. Neither team is yet at its full strength and both should improve as the competition advances. Western found the young Young Men's Christian Association team a harder team to beat than was expected. In the second half, however, Western played at full speed to remove any doubt of the outcome of the match. The Young Men's Christian Association's performance was far better than the same team's showing against Technical. Continued improvement may be expected.
