TO THE MOTOR OF THE PRESS.
Sir, —It is now three weeks or more since an agreement was made between the farmers and the /New Zealand Workers' Union, on behalf of those farm workers not covered by the dairy workers' agreement. It was stated that the new agreement would take a few days to become compulsory, but as yet nothing' seems to have been done. It looks as though the workers concerned are to be another month
without the increase; or will it be payable from the date of the agreement? I also hope that a compulsory union membership clause has been included. I think the thanks and support of all farm and station workers are due to the New Zealand Workers' Union for the splendid effort it made for us. and trust it will continue the good work by making a further attempt to organise us.— Yours, etc., SHEPHERD. April 19, 1937.
