CHILDREN NOT TO LAND
FIJI GOVERNMENT FEARS INFANTILE PARALYSIS
(united press association- copybioht.) SYDNEY, February 14. The Matson Company and Australian and New Zealand lines have intimated that children under 16 will not be allowed to land at Suva from vessels which call at New Zealand ports. They therefore appeal to Australian parents to discourage bookings of children, because of the fear entertained by the Fijian Government of the spread of infantile paralysis from New Zealand.
ANOTHER POSITIVE CASE DIAGNOSED
(PBISB ASSOCIATION nUOXAIC.) OAMARU, February 13. A boy of 14, who was admitted to the Public Hospital from the town area on Thursday for observation, is now diagnosed as a positive case of infantile paralysis.
NO MORE CASES REPORTED IN CANTERBURY
No further cases of infantile paralysis in the Canterbury-Westland health district were reported during the week-end, according to Dr. T. Fletcher Telford, medical officer of health for that area.
