ARREST AND RELEASE OF BRITISH SCIENTIST
LONDON, February 12. j When the rebels entered Malaga they arrested as a Government sympathiser the noted zoologist, Sir Peter Chalmers Mitchell, who was i living in the town. He was released after intervention by the British Consul on condition that he left the town immediately. Sir Peter declined to comment on bis arrest iwhen he arrived at Gibraltar.
VATICAN REPRESENTED ON BOTH SHJES
ROME, February 12. The Pope has sent two Vatican representatives to Spain, one to each Government, while Burgos and: Valencia have accredited representatives to the Holy See.
LOYALISTS SENTENCED IN MALAGA
LONDON, February 12. The insurgent court martial at Malaga tried 36 civil guards. It sentenced 27 to death, four to life imprisonment, one to six years' imprisonment, and acquitted four.

LONDON, February 12. The army which captured iialaga is reported to have included SOTO Moors, 5000 Foreign Legionaries, 10,000 Germans, and 15,000 Italians. 4
