LYTTELTON BRANCH
The monthly meeting of the Lyttelton branch of the Plunket Society was held in the Plunket rooms, with Mrs B. H. Gilmour presiding. Arrangements were discussed for the annual Karitane birthday party. Subscriptions were received from Mesdames® M. Scott, Inkster, and Nurse Mcßae's report for work done during December and January was as follows:—Lyttelton: Visits to rooms, adults 143, babies 112, pre-school children 14, and five new cases; visits to homes, new cases 18, old cases 141. Heathcote: Visits to rooms, adults 25, babies 25, and three pre-school children. Five homes had been visited. Akaroa: Visits to rooms, adults 45, babies 40, four pre-school children, and one new case. Three homes had been visited. Duvauchelle: Visits to homes, adults 18, babies 18, and two pre-school children.
A parcel of clothing from the secretary of the Lyttelton group, Toe H, League of Women Helpers, was gratefully acknowledged.
PRESENTATION PARTY
To honour Miss Jean Collier, whose marriage will take place s shortly, a social was held. by members of the Edgeware Road Methodist Church choir, of which Miss Collier was a member. On behalf of the choir the Rev. H. S. Kings presented the guest of honour with a crystal salad boWl and servers.
Amongst those present were Mesdames Kings, Caygill, Turner, Dyer, Williams,. Fraser, Misses J. Collier, A. Moore, M. Turner f P. Hoggan, A. Lucas, O. Robson, M. Tait, R. Hill, M. Webb, A. Megson S. Reynolds, A. Doig,. D. Caygill, E. Wilson, A. Duff, H. Smith, L. Green, Messrs Kings, James, Hosking, Doggerty, Baker, Terise, and Walker. PRE-WEDDING PARTY In honour of Miss Helen Wellbrock, whose marriage will take place this month, Miss Jean Rumbold, who is to be one of her bridesmaids, gave an afternoon party on Saturday at her mother's home in Winchester street. Several amusing competitions and games were played, and Miss Wellbrock received many useful articles for the kitchen of her new home. Those present ■ were Mesdames Arthur Ross, J. Wilson, Misses Helen Wellbrock, 'Joyce Osmond-Smith, Joan Wilkinson, Joyce Ell, Mona Sharman, Ethel Moorhouse, Kathleen Reddington, Jean Rumbold, Margot Wallwork, and Joan Stavely.
