SALUTING BY GERMAN AMBASSADORS
MODIFICATION ORDERED BY HITLER
LONDON, February 12.
The Berlin correspondent of the "News-Chronicle" * states that because of the indignation caused by Herr von Ribbentrop (German Ambassador in London) giving a Nazi salute to the King,- Herr Hitler has considered the whole matter of diplomatic salutes. He has ordered that German representatives, whether members of an .embassy or consular staff, shall give the, Nazi salute while performing their official duties.
The salute will consist of an informal flip of the hand, shoulder high, and not the fully outfiung arm. "Heil, Hitler," will not be said..The German Ambassadors, apart from Herr von Ribbentrop, have hitherto saluted according to the custom of the country where they are serving.
