JUNIOR TOURNEY FINAL STAGES REACHED In spite of the wind and rain the junior tournament run by the Canterbury Croquet Association was continued on Saturday. The games were slow to finish because of the frequent interruptions caused by the weather, but some very fine play was seen. In the semi-finals of the championship doubles, Mesdames Blunt and Lawson beat Mesdames Stewart and Malcolmson after an evenly contested game, the score being 26 to 19. In the other semi-final Mrs Beeby and H. Nettleton beat Mesdames Pearce and Bainbridge 26-13. The final of this event will be played this afternoon. In the semifinal of the handicap doubles, Mesdames Derrett and Lawson beat Mesdames Parker and McTeigue, 26-18, and Mesdames Adkins and Andrews beat H. Nettleton and Mrs Scarf 26-19. Results were:— A Championship Third Round—Mrs Adkins beat Mrs Symes 26-14. B Championship Second Round—Mrs Andrews beat Mrs Bonar 26-19. Third Round—Mrs Stewart beat F. Dunn 26-1, Mrs Oldfield beat Mrs Calvert 26-5, Mrs Bainbridge beat Mrs Pearce 26-16. Championship Doubles Semi-finals—Mesdames Blunt and Lawson beat Mesdames Stewart and Malcolmson 26-19, H. Nettleton and Mrs Beeby beat Mesdames Pearce and Bainbridge 26-13. Handicap Doubles Semi-finals—Mesdames Derrett and Lawson beat Mesdames Parker and McTeigue 26-18, Mesdames Adkins and Andrews beat H. Nettleton and Mrs Scarf 26-19.' Handicap Singles Second Round—Mrs Harris (6J) beat Mrs Derrett (6) 26-22, Mrs Oldfield (8) beat Mrs Maclaine (8), Mrs Norton beat Mrs Palmer 26-14, Mrs Harris beat Mrs Derrett 26-22. Third Round—Mrs Oldfield beat Mrs Maclaine 26-20, Mrs Jones beat Mrs Norton 26-24, Mrs Stockdale beat Mrs Rowe 26-7. Fourth Round—Miss McMillan beat Mrs Fry 26-23. Play will be continued at 9.30 this morning with the following games:—Mrs Oldfield v. Mrs Jones, Mrs Adkins v. Mrs Stewart, Mrs Andrews v. Mrs Lawson.
