TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS OF AUSTRALIA BROMWICH BEATEN IN FINAL (Received January 31, 7.35 p.m.) SYDNEY, January 31. Finals of the Australian tennis championships resulted: — Men's Singles V. McGrath beat W. Bromwich, 6-3, 1-6, 6-0, 2-6, 6-1. Women's Singles (Semi-final) Miss N. Wynne (Victoria) beat Miss T. Covne (New South Wales), 7-5, 4-6, 6-4. Women's Doubles Miss Coyne and Miss N. Wynne beat Mrs Wcstacott (Queensland) and Mrs Hopman (Victoria), 6-2, 6-2. Boys' Junior Doubles Bromwich and D. Pails beat 11. Lindo and J. Gilchrist, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4. In a Davis Cup exhibition match, Quist and Schwartz v. A. Huxley and D. Turnbuil, play was abandoned when the score was 4-6, 6-3, 10-10.
