PERMITS FOR ART UNIONS
ATTITUDE TO PHILANTHROPIC ORGANISATIONS (PUSS 4SSOCUTIO* T«L*G*AU.) WELLINGTON, January 31. "I hold the view that if a body temporarily embarrassed, is doing beneficial work tor the public, and helping a good cause, that body's claims to conduct an art union within the law, are entitled to every consideration," said the Minister lor Internal Affairs (the Hon. W. E. Parry), in reply to a deputation. The increase in profits in recent art unions meant that all the more money was available for the relief of distress. More than £60,000 from this source had been paid out to the Mayors' funds and deserving institutions during the last 12 months.
