FUNERAL
MR W. FARQUHAR YOUNG ' The funeral of Mr William Farquhar Young, well known throughout New Zealand as an elocutionist and singer, and a prominent member of the Scottish community in Christchurch, was held yesterday at the Bromley cemetery. The long procession of mourners included many close friends from both Christchurch and Dunedin, including representatives of the Canterbury Caledonian Society, the Post and Telegraph Department, in which he was for many years employed, and St. Andrew's College. Services at the chapel of J. Lamb end Son, Lichfield street, and at the cemetery were taken by the Rev. D. Gardner Miller. Piper J. Shannahan plaved the laments. "Flowers of the Forest" and "Lochaber No More." The pall-bearers were Messrs Colin and John Campbell, G. Sey, T. M. Charters, and P. Skinner (Caledonian Society), and Claude Young. The chief mourners were Mrs Farquhar Young, Messrs Peter Young and J. P. Young, Mr and Mrs Lawrenson, Mr Claude Young, and Mr Allan Young. Among those present were: Messrs C. S. Thcmas and R.
