Margaret Parnsh was in the picture to the home turn, but failed to stay on. and Dollar Maid, who made two bad breaks along the back, finished on in second place, with Wahrungu shading MaKaret Parrish for third. The others Sup early and were never.dangerous. Locally Trained Pukeuri broke up badly in the-Wake-field Handicap. Northern Guy. UgJlAm and Tarn going away smartly. Along: the back Tarn made a move to be nanay xo Northern Guy at the turn but tte* finished solidly to win nicely. Tarn, a cream gelding by Key de Oro _m prove. Boltaire came into third place .at the distance but had no Chance with the others. The winner is trained at .Nelson by It. F. Berkett._ A Promising Pacer Vinco, a brother to Manoeuvre-, secured a comfortable win in the MotuekaHandlcan. GettinK away smartly, Vinco lea aU the way. King Author was handy for a mile but broke uo. and First Aid ran into second place but could not: reach Vinco. Epilogue was third, with Travelwell next. Ropata was never happy ana ran behind the field throughout. Red Flush Wins Ideal made a gallant effort to win the Nelson Trotting Club Handicap for the second time, but after taking charge at the, end of a mile he could not stall ott the strong finishing dash of Red F} u ™- ■who was nicely handled by M. Stewart. He kept the winner on the fence behind Ideal. Slippery Sam, and Superb, and when straightened up for home came through with 4 fine dash. Loretta was always handy to finish third, and was followed by Great Chum, Repeal, Reno, and Superb. Native Cole lost all chance at the start.
