“GOING BEGGING”

High Gommissionership

Of Danzig

DISPUTES WITH GERMANY

FEARED

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.)

(Received January 29, 11.55 p.m.)

GENEVA, January 29

A League of Nations job worth £3500 a year is going begging, namely, the High Gommissionership of Danzig, which Admiral de Graff (Dutch Minister for Foreign Affairs) has declined. It is reported that he did so on the advice of the Dutch Government owing to its fears of becoming entangled in disputes with Germany. Other governments apparently have the same fear. A Norwegian lawyer, M. Rexmers, is understood to be willing to accept the post, but he is not favoured by the Polish Government, which must be consulted. A Portuguese admiral is also mentioned.
