LADY GAY AND MOTHER BUNCH ARE STILL WATERING

Some day, when we start visiting again—and perhaps it won't be very long — you must come and see the rock dish-gardens that Uncle Sato gave Lady Gay. They are so green and pretty arid fresh. Lady Gay waters them every morning, and Mother Bunch lends a hand. Shipmates and Sunbeams everywhere are making these'rock dish-gardens. And here's \ a secret. There is going to be a competition for these some day. So, if you haven't made your garden yet, start straight away. Lady Gay has an orange plant and a lemon tree in hers, and though she hasn't had any oranges or lemons from them yet, still.she likes to see them grow. "■ ' \ ■ ' • ■ here's more news. Our' Home Gardens Competition will be, held very soon. This year there will be additional prizes, with a special one for the best "new" garden. A "new" garden is one that has been started this month. We might call it a "Holiday Garden." Perhaps there is an odd piece of garden that father says you can have. It may have flowers in it or vegetables, but if you look after it from now on all by yourself, and weed and water it you can enter it for the "Holiday Garden" class in our competition. It doesn't matter how small it is as long as it is your very own. Of course, there will be the classes for the other Home Gardens as well. Who will win Mr Gardiner's cup this year? ' There will be more news of the Home Gardens competition next week. Meanwhile, start straight away weeding, watering, and making Garden" ready. Oh, Lady Gay is a little tired. Two little elves have kindly volunteered to hold her signature up for her. Thank you! /">
