WEDDINGS
NOY—SYMINGTON At the Presbyterian. Church, Geraldine. the marriage took place yesterday morning of Mabel, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs A. C. Symington, of Geraldine, and George Ritchie, younger son of Mr and Mrs G. W. Noy, of Port Chalmers. Dunedin. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. J. Couling. Mr C S. Davies was the organist and Mr R. G. Edward, of Rangiora, was best man. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a wine-coloured frock made with three-quarter length sleeves, and a hat of brown: shiny straw, with a brim of celophane, and she carried a bouquet of white begonias. The bridesmaid was Miss Jean Symington, who wore a frock of vieuxrose heavy crepe, and a brown hat with upturned brim, and carried a bouquet of pink roses. M'CRACKEN—MERRETT The marriage took place yesterday at St. Martin's Church, Spreydon, of Thelma, youngest daughter of Mrs N. Merrett. of Neville' street, Spreydon, and Robert Noel, eldest son of Mr and Mrs J. McCracken, Salisbury street. The Rev. E. A. Osmers performed the ceremony, Mr C. Thompson was organist, and the church was decorated for the occasion with pink and blue flowers. The bride was given away by her brother. Mr D. Merrett. She wore a frock of delphinium blue chiffon made over a foundation of taffeta of the same shade. The bodice of the frock had bell-shaped sleeves and was ruched at the neckline, where it was finished with hand-made flowers. The fitting skirt flared widely at the hemline, and the waist was defined by a plaited girdle, knotted in front, with ends falling to the hem. She wore a wide-brlrnmed Bangkok straw hat of the same shade, trimmed with shaded French flowers, and carried an armlet of blue flowers. Miss Pat Hanna was bridesmaid. She wore a pastel tinted frock, made with draped neckline, and puffed sleeves, with sash of deep blue velvet with ends falling to the hem of the skirt at the back. Her navy straw hat was trimmed with pastel flowers, and she carried an armlet of flowers to tone. Miss Joan Merrett. niece of the bride, was flower-girl. She wore a frock of sunset georgette, which, like her pokebonnet of cream straw, was trimmed with forget-me-nots. Mr Cyril Godfrey was best man.
After the ceremony a reception was held at Ballantynes, where the decorations were carried out in pastel shaded flowers. The bride's mother wore a frock of heavy navy silk crepe with a vestee of cream satin, and a fine navy straw hat, and she carried a bouquet of scarlet flowers.
The bridegroom's mother wore a frock of navy floral silk, a plain silk coat, and a ballibuntl straw . hat trimmed with nasturtiums to match her •bouquet. The bride travelled later in a navy self-striped suit, georgette blouse, and navy straw hat.
