Last Tuesday was the opening of the Pioneer Motor Club's season, the first outing being a successful evening social trial to the Sign of the Bellbird, Kennedy's Bush. The trial, a simple time event with one easy observed section, attracted a good entry, the winner being E. Diehl, who was 10 seconds out in the trip of seven and three-quarter miles. G. Bennett was second with an error of 25 seconds and L, Cooks, was third with an error of 50 seconds. During the evening cards were played, and before the party left Mrs Gilby, wife of the proprietor, gave a demonstration of spinning on a •manually-operated wheel.
