One of the largest philanthropic bequests ever made is that of Mi Charles Hayden, a banker, v/ho left 46,000,000 dollars of his 50,000,000 dollars’ estate for the foundation of a trust for the education of boys and ■ young men, and especially for the advancement of their moral, mental, and physical well-being. He was a bachelor. He left the remainder of his estate to his brother and a friend. • ’
