The monthly meeting of the Aranui Burgesses’ Association was held in St. Ambrose Schoolroom last evening, Mr H. M. Hall presiding. The secretary was instructed to draw the attention of the Government Health Officer to the discharge of drainage from a house in Wainoni road into the river within a few feet of a bathing pool. The secretary was also instructed to write to the Heathcote County Council asking for its views on amalgamation with Greater Christchurch and whether the council proposed to allow all or part of the Avon and Bromley ridings to amalgamate with the city.
