£IOOO COLLECTED IN . . ENGLAND (PUSS*; *S*OCIiTIOK TBLBQHiU.) HASTINGS, January 11. It was announced to-day, with the consent of the Bishop of Waiapu, the Rt. Rev. Herbert Williams, that the amount collected in England by the Very Rev. Dean Brocklehurst last year was', a > little more than £1000; Dean Brocklehurst carried out an appeal in the Old Country for funds to assist in' rebuilding St. John’s Cathedral,- Napier, which was destroyed in the 1931 earthquake. Dean Brocklehurst’s objective when he went to England was £SOOO.
