Lewey, SJD ’ IMPRISONMENT FOR THEFT- i For the theft of an overcoat valued at £1 10s at Lincoln on January, Ift Thomas Francis Hill was sentenced to imprisonment for 30 days. He was convicted of breaches of a prohibition order and a probation license and ns discharged. He pleaded guilty to aB : three offences. , Senior-Sergeant D. L. Colwell said that Hill had been serving a tenn of imprisonment and had been discharged on probationary license only a few dap ago. He stayed at the Lincoln HqW on the night of January 9, and woes he left in the morning he took the licensee’s overcoat with him. He ad- ~ mitted having taken it, and he admit, ted also having had liquor, a breach of a prohibition order which was pail of the terms of his release. The senior sergeant said Hill had probably bsei drinking methylated spirits. No good could be done by punishing him-for. the breach of probation. He had/a long list of previous convictions.. “I made a fool of myself,” saidHsU, when he was asked for an explanation.
