NEW BRIDGE AT THE BOWER

NEW BRIGHTON TO TAKE NO ACTION A report made by the Mayor-of New Brighton (Mr E. L. Smith) last evening for the sub-committee set up by the New Brighton Borough Council to consider whether the council should participate in the building of a new Bower bridge stated that the committee, after consideration, recommended that no action be taken. ■ The Mayor-, said that the present bridge was considered quite adequate for the borough’s requirements, as there was very little heavy traffic using it. The bridge at Central Brighton was available for heavy traffic, and the sub-committee felt that it could not commit the borough to further expense. It therefore recommended that no action be taken.. The recommendation was adopted.
