UNCOVERED RUBBISH BINS

NEW BRIGHTON COUNCIL TO TAKE ACTION

An announcement that action would fbe taken against residents who allowed liquid to find a place in their rubbish bins was made by the Mayor (Mr E. L. Smith) at the monthly meeting of the New Brighton Borough Council last evening. Mr Smith said that complaints had been received about uncovered bins by the council in committee. Lately, owing more especially to the unusual rainfall, there had b§en more liquid than rubbish in the bins. This was hot only unhealthy for the men working on the carts, but the liquid dripped through all of the strfeets in the borough. The by-laws committee had decided to take vigorous action in the matter, and shortlv. the borough inspector would make surprise visits to several residences. .
