—— REHABILITATION ACT SOLICITORS* FEES FIXED (?KSSS ASSOCIATION TELIGBAM.i WELLINGTON, January-8. The fees that any solicitor may charge and be allowed against a client being a mortgagor or lessee or guarantor within the meaning of the Mortgagors and Lessees Rehabilitation Act, 1936, in proceedings under that act, are fixed by regulations issued to-night. " For work apart from appearances, such as preparing, filing, and serving applications, the fees range from £2 12s 6d to 10 guineas, according to the value of the mortgages involved. For appearances before the Court of Review or Adjustment Commissions the fees vary from two guineas for the first four hours plus a guinea for each additional hour to seven guineas, plus £1 11s 6d an'hour. Disbursements may be added in all cases. Where an agent is employed, his charges shall be allowed in addition to the solicitor’s charges, and, if the solicitor has to travel, appearance fees shall be increased by. 50 per cent., and in an exceptional case the Court of Review may increase the scale of charges. ■
