(Received January 8, 10.10 p.m.) - LONDON, January 8, There were 325 deaths from influenza last week in England and Wales and 128 in London alone. A British Official Wireless message, dated January 6, said; . The epidemic of influenza, which, has caused considerable interference to business and other activity, is believed to have reached its maximum. The influenza is in a mild form, but doctors are overworked and hospitals are full, in many cases largely with their own staffs. There are more than 1000 influenza cases in the London County Council general hospitals alone, compared with 200 a week ago. A serious depletion of the staffs of London stores coincided with the opening of the January sales.
