.■. ♦ . . FIRST MATINEE TO-DAY To-day, at 2.30, Stanley McKay will present his company in the first matinee of the Christchurch season. Since opening here on Wednesday the Gaieties have played to capacity business. Joe Lawman, the young Australian comedian with the indiarubber face, has become an instantaneous favourite. Stella Lamond. charming soubrette. and Elton Black, Scottish comedian, have also become most popular, and the musical act of the Hilo Duo! is one of the highlights of a show of all-round excellence.
