AN ALBACORE CAUGHT
RARE FISH IN NEW ZEALAND WATERS (PBBS3 ASSOCIA.TION 'TELEGRAM.) • ; AUCKLAND, January 8. An albacore, a member of the tuna fish family, rare in New Zealand waters but One of the best-known food fishes in’ other parts of the world, which was caught near Mayor Island, Tauranga, attracted much attention when exhibited in Auckland to-day.-It was caught by Mr P. McKee from the Auckland seine fishing boat MorOcocha on a spinner trailing behind the boat, about 12 miles from the island. The spinner was'painted grey, with a hapuka hook attached.. ... . Mr McKee considers that this is the only kind of spinner on which albacore is likely to be caught. This is the first fish brought Auckland under a prize scheme instituted .by 'Sanfords. Ltd., for the development of tuna waters.
