BROADCASTING
TO THE EDITOB OF THE FBESS. Sir,—Broadcasting has lately received quite a few criticisms, and perhaps one or two more will not be amiss. I wish especially to refer to the opening morning session, consisting generally of a number of “dished-up” records at breakfast time. Country people who have not the privilege of receiving the paper with their early cup of tea would very much prefer about five minutes of the latest important items. In a great many cases they do not receive the paper till noon, and several do not get it until the evening. I do not think a little early news over the air would have any effect on the sale of newspapers, and it would certainly be much appreciated by country listeners.—Yours, etc., ROTHERHAM LISTENER-IN. January 7, 1937,
