Anderson (Sealy street) are visiting Ashburton. Mrs W M. Satterthwaite and Mrs Clive Crozier (Christchurch) are staying with Mrs T. W. Satterthwaite (Elizabeth street). Mrs R. H. Rhodes (“Came.” Sealy street) is spending Christmas with her daughter, Mrs P. R. Woodhouse (Bluecliffs). . Mr and Mrs L. Mansell (Christchurch) are staying with the Rev. H. S. and Mrs Leech (Branscombe street) Mr and Mrs H. Holdgate and Miss Audrey Holdgate (Bidwill street) are visiting Ashburton. Mr and Mrs Hugh Macfarlane (“Waikoea,” Waihaorunga), who were the guests of Mrs H. Westmacott (Nile street), have returned home. Mrs Gladstone Robinson (“Oakwood”) is staying for a few days with Mrs G. H. R. Ulrich (Wai-iti road). Dr. and Mrs Keith Holdgate (Auckland) are visiting Mrs John Holdgate (North street). Miss Hill (Christchurch) is the guest of Mrs W. W. Garton (Arthur street) for the holidays Mr and Mrs J. M. Jenkins (Chalmers street) are at the river. Mr and Mrs A. M. Parker (Le Cren street) are visiting the southern lakes. Mr and Mrs G. Heasley (Ashburton) are visiting Mrs J. J. Heasley (Nelson terrace). Mr and Mrs F. Newton (Maltby avenue) are visiting the Franz Josef Glacier. Mr and Mrs F. Wilkin (Selwyn street) are visiting Burke’s Pass Mr and Mrs P. A. Elworthy, Miss Diana Elworthy (Gordan’s Valley), and Miss Juliette Kain (Orari) are Camping at Decanter Bay (Banks Peninsula). Adjutaht and Mrs W. Knight, who have been in charge of the Salvation Army at Timaru for the last two years, have received notice of their transfer to take effect from January 10. Their new station has not yet been announced. Miss O’Brien and Miss Loo Cartwright (Orbell street) and Miss Ziesler (Elizabeth street) have left on a trip to the Franz Josef Glacier. Mr and Mrs R. O. Lindsay and the Misses Lindsay (Christchurch) are staying in Miss Cartwright's house. Mr and Mrs B. B. Halliday (Christchurch) have arrived to stay with Mrs R. A. Holdgate (Park lane). WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FARMERS’ UNION KAIKOURA BRANCH The Kaikoura branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union had a very busy day with the stall which it held at Currans' Garage, West End, Kaikoura. Mrs Hugonin, the president, had a large number of members helping her to dispose of- fancy goods, cakes, fruit, vegetables, meat, sweets, and produce, which found a very ready sale, and the proceeds will help the finances of the association materially.
