PRESIDENT OF CUBA REMOVED
‘‘VICTORY FOR MILITARY FORCES” (Received December 25, 10.40 p.m.) HAVANA, December 24. The President (Dr. M. M. Gomez) was removed by the Senate by a vote of 22 to 12. on an impeachment charge, and the Vice-Presi-dent (Mr Frcderico Laredo Bru) automatically became president. Dr. Gomez has issued a manifesto to the people saying that the impeachment was highly unjust. It was a victory for the military forces, which were determined to control the country.
