CHRISTMAS GREETINGS
TO THE EDITOB OF THE PRESS Sir, —One thousand nine hundred and thirty-six years have passed since the first greetings, and those greetings came from the third heaven, brought by an angel of the Lord. “Behold I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people”—“For unto us is born this day in the city of David a Saviour which is Christ the Lord.” What a wonderful sight for those shepherds and also to hear the heavenly host praising God. and saying, ‘‘Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, goodwill toward men.” The incident is recorded by Luke the Apostle. He commences his gospel after this manner: “Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us.” His gospel is addressed to Theophilus. which means loved by God. To go back in spirit and to see the Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger—“ God manifest in flesh.” “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.” I send my best wishes to all “The Press” workers—cheerio. —Yours, etc.. EGLON SERCOMBE. P.S.—I shall not leave Mr Trolove out. ' December 23, 1936.
