SPEEDING
TO THE EDITOJt Or THE TRESS. Sir, —The threatened epidemic of infantile paralysis is being handled with every care-by those in charge, and I am sure he public have every confidence in the authorities. We would have more peace of mind could we see indications of a strong hand being used to control and punish the speed hogs who are so much in evidence in our streets and over intersections. Notwithstanding the appeal of the Minister, the Hon. R. Semple, the other evening over the air, the pace continues and will continue. No appeal will affect these speed fiends. There
is only one remedy: put them off the road. Why should they be a menace to all decent drivers and the public generally? Permit me to suggest that no further warning be given. A conviction for dangerous or careless driving should automatically cancel the driver s license. Human lives are of more, importance than dangerous drivers jobs. -Yours, etc., gAFETy FIRgT December 23, 1936.
