SQUASH RACKETS
A VALUABLE ANNUAL So enormously has squash rackets grown in popularity all over the world in the last few years that it is not surprising to find that an annual dealing exclusively with the game has at last been published. The publishers are Eyre and Spottiswood, who are responsible for "Lowe's fcawn Tennis Almanak." It is certain that the "Squash Rackets Annual" will become to squash rackets players what "Wisden's" is to cricketers, and "Lowes is to tennis players. The first issue leaves little rpom for improvement. It is splendid both as
a work of reference —it has full world records of ,the game and biographies of leading players—and as a technical manual for clubs and players. The British and American rules and also doubles rules are listed, and there is a valuable section on squash court construction by A. W. D. Reid, advisory architect to the Squash Rackets Association. Especially interesting are the instructional articles by Charles Read, doyen of professionals, and the finest coach in the game, and F. D. Amr Bey, holder of the British open championship.
