STOCK SALES STORTFORI) LODGE (t'UKnS' ASSOCIATION' TEMJGKAM.) HASTINGS, December 23. In contrast with last week's sale, store sheep was the only section of live stock at Stortford Ledge to-day which met with any enquiry. With requirements in hand for both fat cattle and sheep, butchers restricted their activities. Lifeless selling resulted through an entire lack of competition, lines being difficult to quit at reduced levels. Little appeared to be wanted in cattle, except extra prime heifers, which were below late rates. Rain overnight brightened the selling of store sheep, a healthy tone prevailing throughout. Extra good wethers recovered in value, making to 25s 2d, best two-tooths selling up to 23s 7d.
