SUSTENANCE MEN
TO rut CT>ITOB Of' THIS PRISS. Sir.—On reading F. H. Grant's letter I cjuito agree with all He said; but it is harder still where the wife is
gelling the old age pension. Because we get a rise of 2s 6d a week, it is kept off our men. and when we ask the reason why, the answer is “The wife’s rise.” I saw in your paper that Mr Ross said the rise in sustenance was independent of all other income. Then why the cut?— Yours, etc.. OLD AGE PENSIONER. December 22, 1936.
