REBEL BASES BOMBED IN CHINA
GOVERNMENT PREPARING TO ATTACK SHANGHAI, December 20. An advance unit of 150,000 Government troops under General Hoyung Chin captured Hwahasien and carried out an air bombing raid on many rebel bases near Sianfu in preparation for a general attack. The Nanking authorities refuse to discuss terms with the rebels. Mr T. V. Soong has arrived in Sianfu in an endeavour to secure Marshal Chiang Kai-shek's release.
