"I'LL WAKE WITH A SMILE"
I intend to try 'waking up with 8 pleasant smile and words for everyone. „ ~, Of course, the next thing I will do is to look in my stocking as It is usually filled with nice things.
I want to surprise mother and daddy by giving them an early morning cup of tea in bed. I am looking forward to the Christmas pudding as mother usually lets us choose where we think a threepence may be. We will also be having goose. As we are having visitors I think we will have a very pleasant Christmas. —RAYMOND ASHBY (aged 9), Horrelville.
"I'LL WEAR A PAPER HAT THAT DAY"
I hope it is fine on Christmas Day, as I would like to go for a swim. I would also like to have a
paddle as well as a swim, and sail my boat, too. If it is fine my cousins will be here and they will play with me. At dinner time I mean to wear a paper hat. For dinner we shall have green peas and a Christmas pudding. After dinner I might be feeling tired so I would go and have a rest. Before having tea we shall put our paper hats on. When we have had tea my cousins will go home Then I will play by myself until bed time. —MARY JOHNSTONE (aged 9), Kaituna Valley.
ERNEST'S STOCKING
Do you know what I think Ernest the Engine had jn his stocking? I think he had a plate in the bottom, a wee game of tennis, and a little tea set with two little saucers and two little cups and a little book
with some nice stories in it. Ernest played all day and then Ernest went to bed because he was so tired. " -MJLA SMERDON (aged 7), 57a Cashmere road.
