MOTOR-CYCLIST'S DEATH
♦ FATAL COLLISION AT KILLINCHY The adjourned inquest into the circumstances surrounding the death of George Edward Strutton, 22 years of age. who was killed when his motorcvcie collided with a truck at Killi'nchy on the night of December 3, was held by the coroner, Mr 11. A. Young S.M., at Leesfon courthouse. At the time of the accident another young man, Harold Rowe. was on the pillionseat'of the motor-cycle. , Mr W. F. Tracy represented the insurance company concerned, and Mr C V Quigley the driver of the truck. Abel! ScavleU. Constable Nesbit ccni ducted the proceedings. Dr S. R. Cattell described the injuries sustained by Strutton. Beyond I a few abrasions about the right knee 'and left thumb there were no external marks of injury and no sign of fracture Internal examination showed a I stellate rupture of the interior surface ! of the liver on the right side and a larger rupture running from the core backwards and outwards on the upper surface,* the dome of the diaphragm being also torn through. The injuries were of such severity as to be rapidly fatal and death was due to internal haemorrhage caused by them. After other evidence had been given the coroner returned a verdict that Strutton met his death from injuries received when a motor-cycle driven by !him accidentally collided with a motorlorry driven by Scarlett. There was no evidence to show that there was any want of care on the part of Scarlett.
