School Children's Concert There was an excellent attendance at the school children's concert held in the Glentunnel Hall recently. Much credit is due to the staff (Mr L. A. Marshall and Miss G. Charles) who trained the children. KAIKOURA As a result of a collision between one of Newman Bros.' service cars and a motor-car driven by W. Momson of Cheviot, on May 30. near the Kahautara bridge, a civil case was heard in the Magistrate's Court at Kaikoura, before Mr H. A. Young. S.M. Newman Bros, claimed the sum of £62 Is from the National Mortgage ond Agency Company. Ltd.. for damages to the servic? car, and defendants counter-claimed £3O 7s lid for damages to the car driven by Morrison. Mr W. F. Tracy appeared for Newman Bros, and Mr F. W. Johnston for the National Mortgage and Agency Company. After evidence had been heard, tne magistrate said that he was satisfied that the collision was caused by the bus being too far over on the road, and entered judgment for the defendants, and also for defendants for the amount of the counter-claim.
WAIKARI SCHOOL PRIZE LIST Because of the precautions against an outbreak of the infantile paralysis epidemic the Women's Institute children's party at which the school prizes were to have been distributed has been abandoned, and the children received their prizes privately.
