FORCED LANDING
AEROPLANE DAMAGED
PASSENGERS AND PILOT ESCAPE INJURY
[THE PRESS Special Service.) DUNEDIN, December 15. Encountering a heavy drizzle near Whare Flat about 3.30 this afternoon. Mr D. Campbell, flying the Otago Aero Club's Waco machine, made an emergency landing on a scrub-covered field. Although the bodywork of tljfe aeroplane was extensively damaged, the four occupants had a remarkable escape from injury. There were three passengers—two men and a woman. The body of the machine was smashed and tattered, but the engine and propeller were practically undamaged. The club intends to repair the machine.
