“The prospects soon for girls as clerical assistants should encourage a larger number than ever to equip themselves with the be:t educacation they can get, so as to be fit to take advantage oil the improved prospects,” said the lady principal of the Napier Girls’ High School, Miss D. M. Arthur, in her annual report, presented at the break-up ceremony. “For the professional girl the teaching profession is now opening up greatly increasing possibilites because of the readmission of the five-year-olds, the intended reduction in the size of classes, and the possible raising of the* school-leaving age to 15 years.”
