* The Hon. J. A. Lee, Parliamentary Undersecretary in Charge of Housing, arrived in Christchurch from the south last evening and is staying at the New City Hotel. Mr A. W. Hyndman, a son of Mr T. Hyndman, of Invercargill, has received an appointment with the Marconi Wireless Company, London, and left Invercargill yesterday to join the Rangitata. Mr J. D. Hunter, who.will leave for Australia to-day, has been appointed delegate in Australia of the New Zealand Surf Life-Saving Association during his visit. Mr E. J. Vallentine has returned to Auckland after an absence of seven years. He is on leave from Kuala Lumpur, Malay States, and he will spend about six months in New Zealand. Mr P. N. Bundle, who for the last nine years has been manager of the Otago and Southland branch of the Vacuum Oil Company, will leave Dunedin on December 21 on transfer to Wellington. At the meeting of the council of the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce last week the president (Mr N. R. Wilson) expressed appreciation of the services of Mr Bundle as a member, and conveyed to him the council’s good wishes.
