OPEN TOURNAMENT AT WAIMAIRI
The open tournament of the Waimairi Beach Golf Club was held yesterday. In addition to a good attendance of club members most of the city clubs were represented. Mr A. R. Blank presented the trophies. The four-ball best-ball medal, played in the morning, was won by D. F. Glanville and A. Fowler, of the Russley Club, with a net 70.
Other good cards were:—S. J. Morris and M. E. Cark 71 net, J. Sugg and R. Bundle 73 net. M. Scott and D. Crozier 73 net. The afternoon medal resulted in a win for W J. Horwell, of the Waimairi Beach Club, with a net score of 74, B. M. Lake. D. B. L. Bowker. and J. W. Prew tielng for second place with net scores of 76. Miss P. Guest, of Invercargill, returned the best women’s card with a 78 net.
