AN IMPEOVED AIR SERVICE
LINKING ENGLAND, EGYPT, AND SOUTH AFRICA FIRST STEP TOWARD EMPIRE TRANSPORT SCHEME (BRITISH OFFICIAL WIRELESS.) (Received December 8, 7.30 p.m.) RUGBY, December 7. The agreement with Imperial Airways, Ltd., for the operation of the air service between Egypt and South Africa is due to terminate on January 23, 1937. It is intended to introduce as from April 1, 1937, an improved air service between England and South Africa, via Egypt, operated by flying boats and carrying without surcharge. all first-class mail of participating countries on the route. This is designed to form the first stage in the introduction of the Empire air transport scheme.
