Mr Walter J. Hutchinson, general foreign manager, 20th Century-Fox. announces the receipt of advice from New York that Eddie Cantor has been signed by Darryl F. Zanuck to make pictures exclusively for them. His contract calls for stardom in three pictures over the next two years, for which he will receive approximately 1.000,000 dollars. One of the screen’s greatest comedians, Cantor has retained the wide popularity which he won in early talkies, and still remains one of the industry’s biggest box-office magnets. “Whoope. l ,” ‘The Kid from Spain, - ’ “Kid Millions.” ‘ Roman Scandals,” and “Strike Me Pink” were some of his successes. There is no doubt, however, that with the tremendous resources of 20th Century-Fox and . the production of Darryl F. Zanuck behind him, he will achieve un event greater triumph under the new contract.
