FREEZING WORKS DISPUTE
. CONFERENCE OF PARTIES (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON. November 13. The freezing works dispute was again before the Arbitration Court today. Mr Justice Page suggested a conference of the parties, and said he thought a good deal of trouble might be saved if all but the important clauses of the dispute could be settled by agreement. It might also be some help, he remarked, if he repeated the previous announcement of the court regarding disputes that it was the court’s intention to apply the 1931 rates of pay and conditions, unless there were special circumstances justifying a departure. The court adjourned for the parties to confer.
