MAILBAGS WASHED ASHORE
LOSS OF AIR LINER RECALLED (Received November 12, 9 p.m.) LONDON, November 11. Five thousand sea-soaked letters have arrived at London postal headquarters. They were washed ashore in two mailbags on the Kentish coast, and have been identified as part of the mail on the air liner Boadicea, which was lost in the channel on September 25. . The letters are being dried and will, where possible, be delivered or returned to the senders.
[The Boadicea, a machine of Imperial Airways, Ltd., disappeared on a flight from Croydon to Pans. The machine carried mails and freight, but no passengers. The crew comprised a pilot and wireless operator.]
