DEMONSTRATION IN PARIS SUBURB

FOURTEEN POLICEMEN INJURED PARIS, November 10. The working class suburb of St. Denis was the scene of a wild demonstration, which was suppressed by 50 platoons of Mobile Guards and 1000 police. The former communist Mayor, M. Jacques Doriet, in an address to the newly-formed French People’s party, had attacked communists, and demanded the denunciation of the Franco-Soviet Pact and the recognition of the Franco Government in Spain. This caused an uproar. Barricades were erected to prevent the communists storming the hall. Fourteen policemen were injured.
